Photo Project
This photo was taken on the first warm spring day of this year, while I was sitting on the porch swing outside of the Parker House. A few weeks prior to this, the river was completely frozen over and it came close to flooding the road. Chucks of ice can be seen on the river's bank. The usual breeze that blows through the river valley carried the smell of fresh spring air. The sound of birds chirping and the reflection of sunlight off of the river was a welcome change to a winter that seemed far too long and cold. This is a great place to sit most seasons of the year. I enjoy floating from Emlenton to the boat launch that is just down the road from the Parker House. Then, I sit on my favorite porch swing while enjoying a cold drink and a conversation with whoever is around. During Fall, there is a romantic view of leaves changing from green to shades of orange, red, and yellow. The view is even better from the second story balcony right above this porch.
